Nastasia Alberti is a self-taught photographer from Paris, based in London.
Her work focuses on female subjects, using only natural light and DIY development to produce beautiful pictures. Her work conjures up worlds where woman can be vulnerable, brave and dominant, looking for their raw emotions: life and death, fear and joy, resurrection.
Her work has appeared in art books like Let’s Start A Pussy Riot which was published by Rough Trade and magazines such as The Observer. Clients include the band Ghost Culture for which she did the album photos and Kelly lee Owens, with solo shows taking place at Peaks pop-up gallery and with the art collective Not So Popular. She was also chosen to appear in the exhibition“My name is…”. With the like of Tuner Prize winner Gillian Wearing, Alberti’s photograph of Vogue writer Karley Scortino was displayed on a billboard in Hackney, London for over a month. She was part of the huge TFL exhibition to promote the tube opening at night amongst Corinne Day, Jürgen Teller and Linda McCartney to name a few.
She is currently working closely with Annin Arts Gallery.
